Which sunglasses suit my face shape?
By Dirk en Nick · · Last updated
Choose a frame that is approximately as wide as your face at eye level, and a shape that contrasts: angular for a round face, round for an angular face.

The best sunglasses for your face are about as wide as your face at eye level and have a shape that contrasts with your face. A round face gets more definition with an angular frame, while an angular face is softened by a round or rounded frame.
How do you determine your face shape?
Look straight into the mirror and compare three widths: your forehead, your cheekbones and your jaw. If they are about the same and your face is as long as it is wide, you have a round or square face. If your face is clearly longer than it is wide, it is oval or long.
Which frame suits which shape?
| Face shape | Choose | At Shadeclub |
|---|---|---|
| Round | Angular, slightly wider | TIBOR, JOHN |
| Square | Round or rounded | VALENCE, NOVA |
| Oval | Almost anything | COLLIN, MONARCH |
| Long | Large, with a high bridge | JOHN, COLLIN |
| Narrow | Compact | REX, MONARCH, AERO |
How do I know if a frame is too big?
Your eyebrows should sit just above or just behind the top edge. If the lenses stick out past the sides of your face, or the glasses slip when you lean forward, they are too big.
And what if I'm not sure?
Start with a medium size, such as the COLLIN. Or let the fit finder work it out in three questions. If it still doesn't fit, you have a 14-day cooling-off period: you may try it on at home and send it back.
