About the club

Shadeclub is an eyewear label from Volendam, the Netherlands, founded by Dirk and Nick. Anyone can join. Not every pair gets in.

Why a club

A club feels exclusive because someone chooses. At Shadeclub the strictness sits with the collection, not at the door. You do not pay for a name or a membership. You pay for a pair that survived the selection. No waiting lists, no accounts you have to create, no VIP tiers.

How it started

Dirk and Nick wear sunglasses every day: in the car, on terraces, on the road. They kept facing the same choice. An expensive designer pair, or a cheap one that breaks quickly or does not fit. Shadeclub started to fill exactly that gap: well-designed glasses at a fair price.

How we choose

We have worn every pair in our collection before it reaches you. A model comes along for weeks: in the car, on holiday, at work and at festivals. Only if it survives that does it get a number in the Club Register.

• Lenses. Every pair of sunglasses has Cat. 3 lenses with a UV400 filter.
• Build. Hinges and temples must still sit tight after weeks of wear.
• Fit. No pressure points after a full day.
• Shape. A design that still works five years from now.

What you pay for

Our sunglasses cost between €19.95 and €29.95. No big marketing machine and no permanent sale. What you pay, you pay for the product.

What we stand for

• Strictly chosen. Eight good models rather than eighty average ones.
• Worn first. We sell nothing we do not wear ourselves.
• Honest. Clear specifications, no promises a pair of glasses cannot keep.
• Open. Everyone is welcome. Taste is not a matter of budget.
