Honest answer
Do blue light glasses help with eye strain?
There is no strong evidence for that. A 2023 Cochrane review concluded that glasses with a blue light filter are unlikely to reduce eye strain in the short term when working on screens. What does help: look away from your screen regularly. We sell blue light glasses for comfort and style, not as a medical device.
Blue light glasses are mainly a matter of comfort and style. Choose lightweight frames that you can wear all day at work.
Fair
Honest about blue light.
Screens emit blue light, but much less than daylight. Eye strain after screen use is mainly caused by blinking less and looking at the same distance for a long time.
A commonly used rule of thumb is the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something about 6 meters away for 20 seconds.
